Deputy Governor of Ekiti State, Mrs. Funmi Olayinka and the Ewi of Ado-Ekiti, Oba (Dr.) Rufus Adeyemo Adejugbe at the 2012 Udiroko festival in Ado, held on Tuesday
The Ekiti State Government yesterday, said none of the ongoing projects targeted at ensuring that Ado, the state capital adorns its correct toga of a befitting headquarters would be abandoned.
Deputy Governor of the Land of Honor, Mrs. Funmi Olayinka who stood in for the Governor, Dr. Kayode Fayemi gave the assurance at the Palace of the Monarch of Ado, Oba (Dr.) Rufus Adeyemo Adejugbe at the 2012 edition of Udiroko festival, adding that the present administration was committed to delivering on all its campaign promises.
She explained that the government of Dr. Fayemi apart from being genuinely interested in raising the standard of the people of the state is poised to ensure that whatever commonwealth of the people of the state is protected, judiciously used and profitably harnessed for the overall improvement of the indigenes.
While appealing for continuous support of the people for the government, Olayinka assured the entire residents of the state that the pains that are being currently experienced as a result of ongoing construction works would soon give way to pleasure and sublime standard of living that are unprecedented in the state.
Earlier in his address of welcome, Oba Adejugbe thanked the present government in Ekiti led by Dr. Kayode Fayemi, describing it as pragmatic, committed and purposeful for the massive road reconstruction work being undertaken Ajilosun, Adebayo, Falegan , and other areas of Ado.
He added that: “I am very aware that the Government also ensures that its development programmes extend to other parts of Ekiti state. I strongly commend its efforts at making life worth living for all and sundry through it’s Youth empowerment Programme, the Rehabilitation and Renovation of both primary and secondary schools all over the state and of course the Social Insurance Scheme, through which the aged citizens are given financial support.
Oba Adejugbe hinted that the traditional council is planning to pay a ‘thank you’ visit to the government for embarking on the laudable projects, which when completed, promise to enhance the environmental value the State and give unquantifiable advantage to every citizen of the State irrespective of religion, or political leaning.
