Ekiti State Governor, Dr Kayode Fayemi, will on Wednesday commission the Funmi Olayinka Diagnostic and Wellness Centre, built in memory of the late Deputy Governor of the state, Mrs Funmi Adunni Olayinka, who died on April 6, 2013.
The centre, which is equipped with state of the art facilities, will focus on early detection and treatment of cancer. The centre is built within the premises of the Ekiti State University Teaching Hospital, Ado-Ekiti.
Governor Fayemi had announced the establishment of the diagnostic centre, shortly after Mrs Olayinka’s death, as part of government’s plans to immortalise the late Deputy Governor and also contribute to the treatment of the dreaded disease.
The event which will hold at the premises of the State University Teaching Hospitals, will commence by 10am.
