Ekiti State government has cleared the backlog of promotion of over 3,600 local government workers in the state.

The Chairman of the Local Government Service Commission Chief Ranti Adebisi who made this known in Ado Ekiti, explained that the promotion arrears was for January and July 2011 having cleared the 2010 outstanding early this year.

Noting that the entire delay was caused by the previous administration, Adebisi reiterated the resolve of the present
administration to ensuring that workers are promoted as and when due.

Lauding the conduct of workers in the on-going promotion exercise in spite of their initial apprehension, Chief Adebisi noted that the promoted workers went through an examination and oral interview after duly submitting their APER forms.

The Chairman stated that arrangements have commenced for the conduct of the Jan and July 2012 as well as Jan 2013 promotion exercise.
Local government workers with relevant educational qualifications (B.Ed) have been absorbed into the Teaching Service Commission having passed the prescribed TESCOM. Examination and interviews in line with the policy of the Fayemi led administration to put round pegs in round holes.
