Adebisi Re-Assures Local Government Workers On Job Security

January 18, 2013

The Chairman of the Local Government Service Commission, Chief Ranti Adebisi has re-assured Local Government workers that none of them would lose their jobs.
Speaking at a forum in Ado Ekiti, Chief Adebisi debunked rumours making the rounds that some LG workers that were allegedly classified as ‘’redundant and unrelated job’’ after the recent staff audit would be sacked.

The Chairman explained that government would however not tolerate the hitherto disorderly system where many of the workers were redundant or made to perform below optimal level due to wrong placement.

He added that the commission has invited 593 of the workers for re-verification of their credentials in order to appropriately
position them in places relevant to their academic qualifications and skills

Citing an example of a National Certificate of Education (NCE) holder who had been on salary grade level 04 or 05, Adebisi stressed that such person would be properly placed on GL07 which he said would be tantamount to promotion of the said staff.

He said that the LG workers redeployed to the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) and Teaching Service Commission (TSC) would also assist in efforts to boost the education sector in the state.
