Ekiti State Government has given Proprietors of Private Primary and Secondary Schools in the State up to Monday October 22 to pay their signage fees or be sanctioned in accordance with the Signage and Advertisement Laws of the State.
The State Signage and Advertisement Agency in a statement signed by its Director General, Mr. Olumuyiwa Ogunmilade noted that many of the school owners were yet to pay the fees in spite of several appeals.
The Statement explained that a Task Force would soon be put in place to enforce the signage laws adding that the gesture would boost the State’s Internally Generated Revenue which is one of the platforms upon which the socio-economic development of the state could be built.
It enjoined schools with branded vehicles to pay the rates attached to such branding stressing that failure to do so may lead to having the affected vehicles impounded. While calling on members of the public to obtain approval from the State Signage and Advertisement Agency before erecting billboards and signposts, the statement warned that EKSAA would frown at those that run foul of signage laws of the state.
