Afenifere leader, Chief Ayo Fasanmi, has commended Ekiti State Governor, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, for turning around the fortunes of the state within two years in office.
The octogenarian noted that Fayemi has carried out policies reminiscent of the golden era of the Western Region under the leadership of Chief Obafemi Awolowo.
Fayemi’s eight-point agenda, he added, has human kind as its focus and has potential to transform Ekiti State
Fasanmi, a Second Republic Senator, said there have been remarkable changes not only in the style of governance but in policies pursued since Fayemi came to office.
The elder statesman showered the encomiums in a letter to the governor to congratulate him on two years of purposeful and result-oriented leadership.
Fasanmi added: “Equally I commend you warmly for your programmes on performance based civil service and quality education especially their thrust to make principal stakeholders accountable to the people.
“In addition, I salute you on your initiatives in the field of agriculture which is the major occupation of our people.
“All these programmes are being implemented in a manner that put the people of the state as the centre of development.
“I encourage you to continue on the path of servant leader which you have chosen ensuring transparency, accountability, probity and honesty.
“These are attributes of good governance which you displayed before Ekiti people gave you the mandate to lead them.
“I am quite happy that these attributes are your watchword and guiding principles in the conduct of Ekiti affairs.”
