Ekiti State Government has restated its commitment to the provision of conducive learning environment for pupils in the State to enable them complete favourably with their counterparts all over the World.
The Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Dr. Eniola Ajayi made the assertion while addressing newsmen in Ado-Ekiti.
Dr. Ajayi noted that the present administration was not providing free education alone but was also making instructional materials available in both primary and secondary schools to strengthen the free education progamme of the State Government. She also announced that instructional materials and computers have been distributed to the 3 special schools in the state to improve the performance of the pupils.
The Commissioner who stressed the commitment of the administration to the provision of conducive learning environment said that 100 schools are currently under going massive renovation while 100,000 school bags have been distributed to pupils across the state.
Speaking on welfare of Teachers, the Commissioner disclosed that government has re-instated the car and housing loans for Teachers, cleared the backlog of promotion areas, provided laptops computers for both primary and secondary school teachers.
Dr. Ajayi said that government places interest at developing sporting activities especially in the grassroots to discover hidden talents.
