August 15, 2012

The Commissioner for Culture Arts and Tourism, Alhaji Ayodele Jinadu has solicited the support of the Ekiti State Chapter of the Hoteliers Association of Nigeria towards the success of the forth coming Ekiti State Festival of Culture and Arts (EKIFEST).
The Commissioner who made this call during a stakeholders meeting with the association in Ado-Ekiti stated that the hospitality industry is crucial to the over-all success of the week-long event which is aimed at harnessing the rich culture of the people of the state.
While appreciating the association for being an admirer of Dr. Kayode Fayemi’s administration, the Commissioner pointed out that this maiden cultural-tourism festival scheduled to hold between September 9 and 15 with the theme: “Engaging culture for socio-economic transformation” is expected to re-awaken the cultural value of our people, just like the Ojudeoba
festival of Ijebu Ode in Ogun State and Osun-Osogbo festival of Osun State.
The President of the Association, Otunba Jackson Kayode Ayeni expressed delight at the initiative of the government to partner with the association, describing it as laudable.
He submitted that the association would render the necessary support to ensure the success of the programme and make Ekiti conducive for local and foreign investors.
