EKSG Commends FMH And UNFPA On Family Planning Scheme

The Ekiti State Government has commended the Federal Ministry of Health (FMH) and United Nations Fund for Population Activities (UNFPA) on the provision of Free Family Planning commodities to check population explosion.
The State Commissioner for Health, Professor Olusola Fasubaa gave the commendation while declaring open the family planning week in Ado.
Professor Fasubaa who was represented at the event by the Director of Administration and Supply, Ministry of Health, Mr. Emmanuel Ade Ogunsanmi said that the week long activities was organised for six Local Governments namely – Emure, Ise/Orun Ikere, Ado,Ekiti, South
West and Irepodun/Ifelodun.
The Commissioner also advised couples to always space  child bearing and to reduce the numbers of children given birth to, be able to cater for them so that the crime rate and other social vices will be reduced in our society.
Professor Fasubaa called on Health workers in the state to continue to sensitize and educate families on numbers of children to produce in order to reduce and control population explosion so that the state and the nation in general will be a better place to live.
The Ekiti State Family Planning Coordinator, Mrs. Kahinde Oke gave kudos to the Federal Ministry of Health and the United Nations Fund for Population Activities for their support to the state government.
Mrs. Oke promised the distribution of the family planning commodities free of charge to Ekiti people.
