Osundare Commends EKSG On Eductional Revival

The foremost, world renown poet and Professor of English at the University of New Orleans, USA, Prof. Niyi Osundare has commended the  Ekiti State Government under the leadership of Dr. Kayode Fayemi for putting educational issues on the front burner.
The Ikere-Ekiti born literary critic made the commendation during a courtesy visit to the State Commissioner for Information, Hon. Funminiyi Afuye described the efforts of the government at repositioning education in the state as a right step in the right direction.
He lauded the State Governor for the provision of laptops for each of the students in Ekiti, saying the gesture will lead to information and communication revolution in the State.
The literary icon who noted that it is always difficult for him to praise people disclosed that he would not hesitate to say it when things are being properly done, saying he is happy with the ways things are being currently done in Ekiti State.
He called on the people of the State to support the state government in her bid to make things work in the state:  according to him, the state is still lagging behind in the areas of industrialisation and there is need for the government and people of the state to
industrialise the state.
Earlier, the Commissioner for Information, Hon. Funminiyi Afuye while welcoming the Professor to his office noted that the state government should ensure the provision of qualitative education, good road network and welfare of the people of the state among others.
The government spokesperson noted that the state governor and his team were following the footsteps of the late sage, Chief Obafemi Awolowo in the provision of social amenities and welfare packages for the people of the state.
