Commissioner Charges Stakeholders On Expenditure Framework

Ekiti Commissioner for Budget and Economic Planning  Hon Debo Ajayi has enjoined all the Stakeholders in the Medium Term  Expenditure Framework (MTEF) assignment to give  the assignment  priority attention in view of the deadline given by the Governor for the completion of the project.

The Commissioner stated this during an Interactive session with the stakeholders on the Preparation of Medium Term Expenditure Framework (MTEF) 2013-2014 in Ado.

Hon. Debo Ajayi said the State had adopted and prepared development plans in order to ensure that government policies and programmes are well articulated and better implemented in line with the available funds and budgetary provisions. He explained that over the years, both Federal and State Government has produced several development plans aimed at transforming the economy and making the country one of the best among the comity of nations.
He announced that in line with the decision reached at the Nigeria Governors Forum,  Governor Fayemi had given approval for the preparation of the State MTEF (2013-201-c 4) using 2012 as
baseline.

The Commissioner also said the State MTEF which is an off-short of the Ekiti State Development Strategy (EDS) would work through the 8-point Agenda of the government.

Hon Ajayi said that the expected output of this exercise is the production of an MTEF 2013-2014 document which will be presented to the Executive Council for approval and House of Assembly for adoption in line with the State Fiscal Responsibility Law
