EKSG Promises People Living With HIV/AIDS Of Free Health Services

Ekiti State Government has promised people living with HIV/AIDS free healthcare services from this month.

The State Commissioner for Health, Prof. Benjamin Olusola Fasubaa dropped the hint while receiving the state Executive of the Network of people living with HIV/AIDS in Nigeria (NEPWAN) in Ado Ekiti.

Professor Fasubaa said that plans are in motion to train them as counselors as well as take HIV counseling and testing to strategic places like markets, prisons, police barracks, secondary and tertiary

Institutions and the Governor’s Office.
The Commissioner who noted that the State Ministry of Health was leading in  HIV/AIDS Counseling and testing at no cost as demonstrated at the free health Missions of the Administration said series of meeting has been held with the Anti-retroviral team to improve their mode of operations.

The State Coordinator, Network of people living with HIV/AIDS in Nigeria (NEPWAN), Alhaja Olusola Agbaje expressed appreciation to Governor Kayode Fayemi for the N10m monthly empowerment for people living with HIV/AIDS in Ekiti State.

Alhaja Agbaje however urged Government to provide employment opportunity for educated ones among them as well as provide special and conducive office accommodation in the designated hospitals for their treatment.
