Ekiti State Government has called on the Ilawe community to complete all formalities for the release of the piece of land on which the proposed new General Hospital, Ilawe Ekiti in Ekiti South West Local
Government Areas of the state would constructed.
The State Commissioner for Health, Professor Olusola Fasubaa made the request during an inspection tour of the proposed site of the hospital along Igbara-Odo road to enable government include the project in the 2013 budget of the state government.
Professor Fasubaa who was led to the site by the Alawe-in- Council under the leadership of the Oloja-Adin of Ilawe-Ekiti, High Chief Julius Aladetuyi described the new location as suitable for the
benefit of the three major towns that makes up the local government area.
The Commissioner expressed displeasure over the poor sanitary condition and inaccessibility of the current hospital that resulted in low patronage hence the need to construct an ultra modern General
Hospital for the people of the area..
Also Fasubaa also visited the newly completed Okeloye Primary Health Care Centre constructed by the Federal government which was ready for commissioning.
Professor Fasubaa appealed to Okeloye community leaders to protect the health center against vandalization.
The Alawe of Ilawe, Oba Adebanji Ajibade Alabi expressed appreciation to the state government for its quick response, promising that the survey plan and other documents of the proposed site would soon be handed over to the government.
