FRSC Charges Road Users on Traffic Rules

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has called on road users across Ekiti State to always abide by traffic rules in order to ensure safety of lives and properties.

The State Sector Commander of FRSC, Mr. Rilmdon Kumven made the call in Efon Alaaye during a public enlightenment campaign against overspeeding, overloading, wrongful overtaking and use of second – hand tyres.

Mr. Kumven said the campaign became necessary to ensure a smooth take – off of a new unit command along Itawure – Efon Alaaye road for the purpose of reducing road crashes.

He stated the resolve of the FRSC to have offices along the high ways for quick response to accident victims, urging every road user to see road safety officials as their partners in progress to enable them achieve their objectives.

In his remarks, Chairman of the State Internal Revenue Service, Mr. Isola Akingbade urged the people, especially Motorists and Okada riders to adhere to traffic precautions.

Mr. Akingbade promised that the Board of Internal Revenue will continue to collaborate with the FRSC to ensure safety on the roads.

He lauded the FRSC for organizing the awareness campaign in order to checkmate the excesses of some drivers, but however pleaded with the Road Marshals to always enforce the traffic laws without prejudice.

Earlier, the Head of Policy and Statistics of the State Command, Commander John Malomo in a lecture urged both motorists and okada operators to be sensitive to mechanical signs on their vehicles to avoid carnages.
