Ekiti Governor’s Wife Laments Spate Of Examination Malpractices

Wife of Ekiti State Governor, Erelu Bisi Fayemi has lamented the spate of examination malpractices in the school system noting that the vice is a disgrace to the nation’s education sector.
Erelu Fayemi who was speaking during the flag-off of a state-wide campaign against examination malpractices organised by the state government in Aramoko Ekiti said a return to hard work, respect and integrity was the only way out of the present mess in the nation’s educational sector.
She urged parents and teachers alike to work towards making the examination malpractices  history in the state by ensuring that students are not encouraged to indulge in such a shameful act.

Also delivering his keynote address, the State Commissioner for Information & Civic Orientation, Hon Funminiyi Afuye urged stakeholders in the sector to support government’s drive towards making qualitative education available to the people of the state.

He explained that the sector was being revamped through the provision of laptops for students and teachers across the state, training and
re-training of teachers as well as the provision of instructional materials, adding that government’s gesture should be complemented by ensuring adherence to quality in all educational institutions across the state.
In her speech, the State Commissioner for Education, Dr. Eniola Ajayi said the state government intends to establish Remedial Colleges in all the Local Governments areas of the state in order to keep external students from public schools as  part of  an holistic approach to get rid of examination malpractices in the state.
