EKSG Inaugurates Logistics Working Group on Cold Chain

The Ekiti State Government has inaugurated Logistics Working Group on cold chain equipment to ensure that functional and adequate vaccine storage facilities are available at all levels in the state.

The Permanent Secretary, Primary Health Care Development Agency (PHCDA),Mrs. Folakemi Falore while inaugurating the (7) seven members committee, said Ekiti State was lucky to be one of the beneficiaries of the pentavalent vaccine which is 5 in 1 vaccine that had just been introduced into Nigerian immunization.

Mrs. Falore explained that the aim of the cold chain is to preserve vaccine from prevalent diseases and to contribute positively to health care delivery services in the state.

Responding on behalf of members of the Committee, the Representative of National Primary Health Care Agency, Mrs. Funmi Adenika commended the State Government for the achievements recorded in the health sector

She also solicited the assistance of the State Government and promised their total commitment

The Committee is headed by the State Cold Chain Officer while the State Immunization Officer and representatives of UNICEF, WHO and GAVI in the state are members.
