The Ekiti State House of Assembly has passed the State Electricity Board bill. The bill, seeks to strengthen the State Electricity Board in discharging its duties effectively.
Hon. Ajiboye who remarked that the bill on the existing board was inherited at creation of Ekiti State, expressed confidence that the new bill would enhance productivity of the board in the state.
The Committee report was adopted by the House and the bill was read for the third time by the Clerk, Mr. Akintunde Famoyegun.
The passage of the bill brings the total number of bills passed by the present Assembly to thirty one.
Meanwhile, a bill seeking to ban smoking in public places in Ekiti State has passed through the first reading in the House.
The bill, sponsored by the Deputy Speaker, Hon. Orisalade Taiwo aims to stop smokers from smoking in public places.
Hon. Orisalade said the bill was also aimed at protecting non-smokers in the society.
