Tourism Development Master Plan for Ekiti Soon – Ologunleko

ARINTA WATER FALLS, IPOLE ILORO Nature's Gift to the world located at about 6km Northwest of Ikogosi in Ekiti-West LGA. This is a tourist's haven in Ipole Iloro.

In a bid to encourage private investors participation in the development of tourism in the state, The Ekiti State Bureau of Tourism Development is to commission four Consultants to help in the design and implementation of the Ekiti Tourism Development Master Plan.

At the prequalification presentation meeting held with the Consultants, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Tourism  Development, Engr. Segun Ologunleko, said the essence of the exercise is to position Ekiti State as the first state in the Country to own a Tourism Development Plan and attain leadership target in global tourism market.

Engr. Ologunleko stressed that since Ekiti is blessed with numerous tourists nature sites, locations and endowed with water falls, hills, breath-taking valleys, vast tracks of unspoiled nature, wildlife reserves, unique natural-warm and cold therapeutic springs, hence, the need  to translate these endowments to opportunities and benefits.

The master plan according to him is expected to encompass all aspects of efforts to achieve quick wins, short term, medium term and long term service driven agenda which includes tourism policy, framework legislation, investment, tourism financing strategies E-Tourism, Hotels and Hospitality Sector growth, Socio-cultural impact, landmarks travel/tours branding among others.
