EKSG Charges Caretaker Chairmen on Probity

Ekiti State Government has charged  Chairmen of the 16 Local Governments in the State to ensure probity, accountability and transparency in governance.

The State Commissioner for Local Government and Community  Development, Chief  Dayo Fadipe gave the charge during the year 2012 Budget Defence of Local Governments at the Treasury Board Meeting held in Ado-Ekiti.

The  Commissioner who was represented at the occasion by the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry, Mr. Deji Ajayi said Budget Defence is very vital in the Local Government administration. Chief Fadipe stressed that the exercise would guide the Local Government Officials on how to spend money meant for the administration of Local Governments.

He urged the Local Governments to make provision for the second phase of 5 kilometers Road project in their budgets to ensure infrastructural development at the grassroot

In his remarks, the ALGON Chairman in the state, Hon Rotimi Ajidara explained that the  officials of the 16 Local Governments would adhere strictly to the budget provision  for the year.

In his contributions, the Vice Chairman of  the  House of Assembly Committee on Local Government Affairs, Hon. Ade Ajayi urged the Chairmen of Local Governments to improve on their Internally Generated
Revenue to enable them embark on socio-economic development projects
at the grassroots.
