EKSG To Introduce Human Capital Development Into School Curriculum

Ekiti State Government has said that it would introduce Human Capital Development into schools’ curriculum as part of efforts to build
entrepreneurship skills in pupils in order to make them self-reliant and employers of labour after leaving school.

Speaking at the opening ceremony of the first Public Primary Schools’ Trade Fair in Ado Ekiti, the State Deputy Governor, Mrs. Funmi Olayinka reiterated the commitment of the Fayemi-led administration to reposition all public schools for all round education that would develop their inherent skills alongside the education syllabus.

Mrs. Olayinka who commended the ingenuity and resourcefulness of the organisers of the trade fair, described the programme as unique noting
that it was common to hear about trade fairs across the globe but none with the trappings of the one where children exhibited their handiwork.

In her remarks, the Chairperson of the State Universal Basic Education Board, Professor Modupe Adelabu expressed gratitude to Governor Fayemi
and his deputy for their efforts at repositioning education in the state adding that the Schools’ Trade Fair is one of the practical results of the government’s investment in primary education.

Professor Adelabu urged teachers to complement government’s efforts with diligence adding that they are very vital to the success of
government’s plan for education in the state.
