The Chairman of Ekiti State Signage and Advertisement Agency, Mr. Bolu Akomolafe has warned political office seekers, religious organizations and members of the public against indiscriminate pasting of posters in the state which is in contravention of the state signage laws.
Mr. Bolu Akomolafe gave this warning in Ado-Ekiti during the enforcement operation embarked upon by the officials of the Agency, advised all stakeholders to always obtain approval before they paste posters or erect Billboards and signposts in the State. Explaining that the exercise of his agency was not to witch-hunt but to instil sanity in the area of outdoor advertising in the state, Akomolafe stressed that anyone caught violating the law would be prosecuted.
The Agency boss also enjoined all stakeholders to complement government’s efforts at developing the state by paying all outstanding fees, rates and taxes. He stressed that the special Task Forces on collection of signage fees would intensify its operations till the end of the year in order to boost the Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) of the state.
