Monarch Appeals To Government On Rehabilitation Of Farm Roads

The Olora of Oke-Ora – Ekiti in Ido/Osi Local Government Area of Ekiti State, Oba Peteru Ojo Daramola has appealed to the State Government to include the township and farm roads within the Community in the on-going rehabilitation of roads by the state and local governments.

Oba Daramola made the appeal shortly after receiving the instrument of appointment and staff of office from the State Governor, Dr. Kayode Fayemi at Oke-Ora-Ekiti. According to the new monarch, rehabilitating the roads would encourage unemployed youths to engage in farming as well as attract entrepreneurs to the locality.

He also appealed to the State Government to provide the community with additional transformers to complement the one he said the community has been using for the past 35 years. Earlier, the State Governor, Dr. Kayode Fayemi urged the new monarch to use his experience as a former Federal Public Officer to better the lots of his people through activities that would boost their socio-economic status.

Dr. Fayemi who was represented at the occasion by his Special Adviser on Chieftaincy Affairs, Chief George Akosile commended traditional rulers in the state for the relative peace and stability in their domains which brought about low crime rate in the state.

The Governor promised that the developmental efforts of the present administration would be evenly spread to all the nooks and crannies of the state, stressing that his administration would provide the necessary amenities needed by the community within its resources.

Dr. Fayemi however solicited the support of all Ekiti indigenes including those in the diaspora for his administration’s efforts to rapidly develop the state.

In his remarks, the Caretaker Chairman of Ido/Osi Local Government Area, Hon. Gbenga Ageyo urged the new monarch to reciprocate the good gesture of the State Government by maintaining peace in his domain and encouraging community development. He called on indigenes of the community to co-operate with the new Oba to make his reign peaceful and successful.
