Contractors handling the 5 kilometer per local government road projects of the Ekiti State Government have been called upon to expedite action on the jobs so as to secure government’s confidence that is the all important criteria for getting more patronage.
Speaking yesterday, at Ise-Ekiti in Ise/Orun local government, Deputy Governor of the State, Mrs. Funmi Olayinka, in continuation of inspection of road projects across the state, reiterated that fact that the only language that makes meaning to the Dr. Kayode Fayemi led administration is performance and due process.
She added that the welfare of the people as well as infrastructural development are two key important vocabularies that will not be compromised by the present leadership of the state.
Olayinka who urged the contractors to reciprocate the kind gesture of government said it was only fair for them to do good jobs and deliver to time having collected their monies. “We are interested in partnering with you, more so that majority of you are from this State, but it is only fair that you assist yourselves by developing your communities along with the government of the day”, she said.
The deputy governor suggested that drainage works be concluded ahead of rainy season and advised members of the various communities to take ownership of the projects so as to be able to provide adequate supervision and maintenance, adding that the plan of the administration was to build 5 kilometre roads in each of the sixteen local councils every year.
In Aisegba Ekiti in Aiyekire local government area of the State, the Apalufin of Aisegba, Oba Adeyanju Omotoyinbo who led his subjects to welcome the deputy governor noted that the Fayemi administration has opened up a lot of new vistas in its short time in office.
The monarch who said his people would forever be grateful to the governor said the people were prepared to take full ownership of whatever projects brought to his domain.
