Road Projects Endeared Fayemi To Communities

The administration of Governor Kayode Fayemi has been described as the best government Ekiti State ever had in the recent times considering its unique strategy of participatory governance and people centered projects being executed since inception.

Alare of Are-Ekiti, Oba Boluwade Adebiyi made the remark in Are during the road project monitoring tour of the Deputy Governor, Mrs. Funmi Olayinka paid to communities in Irepodun/Ifelodun, Goyin and Ado Local Government Areas of the state.

The monarch noted that it was the first time the government is giving communities the opportunity to have a say in matters that affect them and not just forcing contracts and contractors down their throat.
Oba Adebiyi who thanked Governor Fayemi for making Are-Ekiti community one of the beneficiaries of 5 Kilometers Roads per Local Government Project said his community woul ever be grateful  and support the government.

Meanwhile, the Deputy Governor, Mrs. Funmi Olayinka has advised community leaders to enlighten their people on the hazards of indiscriminate dumping of refuse on their health and the disasters this could cause with the onset of raining season.
Frowning at the ways the people had blocked the drainages under construction in the town with refuse, she warned them to stop the habit as it is their responsibility to ensure that the drainage is clean and open at all time to allow free flow of water.

Mrs. Olayinka also directed the local government chairman, Hon. Tajudeen Awe to post Sanitary Officers to the community and provide waste bin in strategic places where people could dump refuse.

Alaworoko of Iworoko, Oba Micheal Alaldejana promised to embark on enlightenment campaign with the local government officials to get his subjects informed and comply with the directive.
