Thirteen Local Government Areas of Ekiti State are to benefit from a N2.6b facility under the MDGs Scheme in the State.
The State Commissioner for Integration and Inter-Governmental Affairs Mrs Bunmi Dipo-Salami who gave the information in Ado Ekiti while declaring open one day seminar organized by the Ministry, she said that each of the benefiting Local Government would have access to N200m of the total sum.
The commissioner who spoke through the Ministry’s Permanent Secretary, Mr Kayode Abe said that the fund would improve the lives of the people at the grassroots through the provision of infrastructure and other live improving facilities.
Mrs Dipo-Salami enjoined officials of the benefiting local governments to submit genuine data of communities in their areas to assist government plan and execute programmes and policies that would have positive impact on the people.
Under the Scheme, the Federal Government and the benefiting LGAs would contribute the remaining 50% at 30% and 20% respectively as counterpart funds.
