The newly appointed Ekiti State Commissioner for Information and Civic Orientation, Mr. Tayo Ekundayo has solicited the continued support of State Information Officers in the task of providing effective publicity for all government activities and programmes.
Speaking at a meeting with the Officers, in Ado Ekiti, the Commissioner assured that the job would however not be a difficult task in view of the fact that the Fayemi led administration remained a good product that will be easy to sell due to its landmark achievements.
Mr. Ekundayo who said he would leave no stone unturned towards ensuring success in his new assignment, noted that his current position is a familiar terrain having managed media officers for over 25 years.
While calling for support and constructive criticisms from all stakeholders, the Commissioner stressed that objective reporting of events would assist him to improve on his performances.
The 1980 graduate of Mass Communication from the University of Lagos and a one-time Head of Corporate Affairs of the Nigerian Telecommunication Limited (NITEL) ,noted that the state is currently undergoing a massive transformation and construction works that needed adequate publicity and support of all stakeholders.
He said it is also worthy of note that all the projects undertaken by the administration are world class.
Also Speaking at the meeting, the Permanent Secretary, Mr. Kola Ajumobi pledged the support of the officers to the Commissioner, stressing that his rapport with them has shown them to be highly dedicated and resourceful officers.
He noted that various equipment needed for a standard photo and Television studio have been procured by the State Government while three brand new vehicles would soon be purchased.
He charged officers to reciprocate the gestures of the State Government by being more dedicated, hard working and proactive.
