EKSG To Construct Access Road To Federal Character Commission Office

Ekiti State Government is to construct the access road leading to the new Federal Character Commission Office Complex in Ado – Ekiti next year.
Governor Kayode Fayemi who made this known during the commissioning of the new office complex located along new Iyin road in Ado Ekiti, urged Federal Government to properly fund its agencies in the state in order to make them perform their statutory duties effectively.

The Governor also urged Federal Agencies to look inwards to generate rather than over rely on the state government for assistance in view of its dwindling resources from the federation accounts.

Mr. Fayemi who was represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Dr. Ganiyu Owolabi however promised that government would continue to assist Federal Agencies in the state within its limited resources.

Earlier in his address, the Executive Chairman of the Federal Character Commission, Professor Shuaibu Oba Abudulraheem OFR, commended Ekiti State Governor, Mr. Kayode Fayemi for his support for the Commission in creating enabling environment for the smooth operation of the commission in the state.

Earlier, the Ekiti State FCC Commissioner, Dr. Dele Afolabi stated that Ekiti State has about 81.7% in its work force which is above the 75% formula and guidance requirement for the 57 Federal Ministries, Departments and Agencies now operating in Ekiti State, though the Commission would continue to demand for more share from the Federal pool.
