EKSG Makes Internal Audit Autonomous Of Accountant General’s Office

Ekiti State Government has approved the establishment of a Central Internal Audit Office towards enhancing efficiency in the department and blocking loopholes in government expenditure.
The Commissioner for Finance, Mr. Dapo Kolawole who made this known at the inaugural meeting he held with Internal Auditors from various Ministries, Department and Agencies (MDAS) in Ado Ekiti.

Mr. Kolawole explained that the approval would make the office of Internal Auditors, under the leadership of an administrative Secretary, autonomous and independent of the office of the Accountant General.
Naming a former Deputy Accountant General, Mrs. Oluyemisi Owolabi as the head of the new office, the Commissioner described its establishment as the first of its kind in the South West.

Kolawole who said that the officers would be properly trained to face the challenges in their new schedule, enjoined them to make honesty, dedication and loyalty their watchwords.
Responding on behalf of the Internal Auditors, the new Administrative Secretary (AS) Mrs. Oluyemi Owolabi lauded the efforts of Governor Fayemi in developing the state through various reforms.
Mrs. Owolabi promised to justify the confidence reposed in them by living up to expectation.
