Ekiti State Government has directed all public and private schools in the state to commence their first term vacation on Friday December 21, 2012 and resume on Monday January 7, 2013 in line with the approved school calendar.
A statement from the office of the Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology urged all schools to adhere strictly to the calendar.
The statement disclosed that information available to the Commissioner indicated that some private schools were planning to contravene the school calendar and warned that government would sanction all errant schools.
