Ekiti Vows To Sack Corrupt Officials

The Ekiti State government has said it would not hesitate to sack any of its officials found to be involved in corrupt practices.

The State Deputy Governor, Prof. Modupe Adelabu who spoke in her office while receiving the Federal Commissioner, South West of the Code of Conduct Bureau, Dr. Ademola Adebo said the administration of Dr. Kayode Fayemi has zero tolerance for graft.

She explained that the governor being a social critic and activist was doing all within his capacity to ensure that the little that State receives from the Federation’s account is judiciously used for the benefit of the generality of the people.

Adding that all the visible achievements of the present administration would not have been possible if the government had not shunned corruption. “Our governor has laid a good foundation for us to follow. It is not for us to sing our own praises, but we have trained ourselves and warned our colleagues in the Executive to avoid anything that would make us guests of anti corruption agencies”, she said.

Speaking earlier, the Code of Conduct boss had appealed to the Ekiti State government to partner the organization to fight corruption and enlist Nigeria in the comity of upright nations. He lauded the state government for putting the people first in all it does and advised that government continues with being accountable and transparent.
