R - L: Deputy Governor of Ekiti State, Mrs. Funmi Olayinka, ambassador of the Japanese embassy in Nigeria, Mr Ryuichi Shoji and the Ekiti State Commissioner for Integration, Mrs Bunmi Dipo-Salami, when the ambassador visited the Deputy Governor in her office, in Ado-Ekiti, on Tuesday.
Ekiti State Government yesterday said it was ready to open up all doors of abundant opportunities in the areas of Tourism, Education and Agriculture to the government of Japan, corporate organizations as well as individuals from the Asia country who may be willing to partner with the present administration towards the realization of its determination to foster sustainable development in Ekiti.
Speaking during a visit to her office in Ado Ekiti, the deputy governor, Mrs. Funmi Olayinka told the visiting Japanese Ambassador in Nigeria, Mr. Ryuichi Shoji that Ekiti is one of the most peaceful states in the country which provides an environment for businesses to flourish with abundance of inexpensive skilled and unskilled reliable manpower..
Describing the people as hospitable, accommodating and warm hearted lovers of all including foreigners, Olayinka added that the Dr. Kayode Fayemi led administration is determined to harness all the abundant human and natural resources for overall development of the state and consider Japan as one of the countries it could partner to achieve the

Tracing the diplomatic ties at ambassadorial levels between Nigeria and Japan to 1964, she lauded the tremendous growth in bilateral cooperation between the two nations and commended the various contributions Japan has made towards developing Nigeria especially in the educational and technical fields as well as rural electrification and agricultural projects.
Expressing the hope that the visit of the ambassador to Ekiti will propel Japan to factor the state into the loop of Japan’s various developmental programmes in Nigeria so that Ekiti as a state will be at a vantage position to make more contributions to the national development.
Speaking earlier, the Japanese Ambassador in Nigeria, Mr. Ryuichi SHOJI said the purpose of the visit is to have an overview of the areas his country could partner with the state, especially in the educational and agricultural sectors which the state is noted for.
He commended the good works of Governor Kayode Fayemi , especially in the area of infrastructural development as this is glaring compared to other two states he had visited in the South West.
Mr. SHOJI expressed the readiness of his country to partner Ekiti State in harnessing its abundant human and natural resources to engender a sustainable development in line with the government’s determination to impact positively on the people.
