Ekiti Government Distributes N3million Worth Relief Materials To Rainstorm Victims

In fulfillment of its promise of assistance to people affected by the rainstorms which ravaged some parts of Ekiti State at the onset of rain this year, the State Government has distributed relief materials worth three million naira to victims of rainstorm disaster in Ilogbo-Ekiti.

Distributing the materials at the Ido/Osi Local Government headquarters in Ido-Ekiti, the state Deputy Governor, Professor Modupe Adelabu who was represented by her Special Adviser, Honorable Tale Oguntoyinbo, expressed the government’s commitment to bringing dividends of democracy to the people.

She said the materials which were distributed to the fifty seven people affected in Ilogbo-Ekiti were given without any political undertone and urged beneficiaries to utilize the materials and make their affected houses habitable again.

The items distributed through the State Emergency Management Agency, SEMA to the victims included bags of cement, bundles of iron sheets, nails and planks.

Two of the beneficiaries, Mr. Olaoye Alabi and Mr. Joseph Osalade who spoke on behalf of others thanked Governor Kayode Fayemi for the kind gesture, which they described as an indication of his genuine concern for the welfare of all and sundry.
