Ekiti Assembly Passes 2013 Appropriation Bill

Ekiti State House of Assembly has passed the 2013 Appropriation bill presented to the lawmakers by the State Governor, Dr. Kayode Fayemi on December 6, 2012.

The budget christened “budget of empowerment and consolidation” was jerked up to N97.6 billion from N93.6 billion by the House.
The breakdown of the approved budget shows that recurrent expenditure has N48.5 billion while capital expenditure has N49.1 billion.

Presenting the report of his committee that scrutinized the budget, Chairman of the House Committee on Finance and Appropriation, Hon. Ayodeji Odu explained that the adjustment was to ensure implementations of some projects by government agencies in line with
the eight point agenda of the state government.
The Committee Chairman stressed the need for proper monitoring of the budget by appropriate organs of the House and the report was
unanimously approved by the lawmakers leading to its passage.

Meanwhile, the House has also confirmed the nomination of members into the House of Assembly Service Commission and the Local Government Service Commission.
Chief George Ojo was confirmed as Chairman of the House of Assembly Service Commission while Hon. Bayo Akinola, Hon. Olaiya Kupolati, Hon. Foluso Ibirinde and Chief S. O. Abejide are members.
The Local Government Service Commission has Chief Ranti Adebisi as Chairman, Chief Rueben Akomolafe, Princess Omotunde Adelabu and Mrs. Dupe Bakare as members.
Other members are Hon. Kola Fakiyesi, Chief Jacob Adewumi and the NULGE Nominee, Mr. Babalola Olorunfemi.
