Death Of John Evans Atta-Mills: A Sad Loss To Africa And Democracy- Fayemi

Ekiti State Governor, Dr Kayode Fayemi has described the death of Ghanaian President, Prof John Atta- Mills as a sad loss to the African Continent and democracy.

The Governor while reacting to the death of Prof Mills in a military hospital few hours after admission, said he was shocked that a shinning star in the African firmament was taken away few months to the end of his glorious tenure.

Fayemi in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr Yinka Oyebode, described the late Ghanaian President as a progressive politician, democrat per excellence , a true leader and a pride of Africa who provided Ghana with a purposeful leadership which has made the country a reference point in the comity of nations.

Gov Fayemi commiserate with the government and people of Ghana on the loss of their president hoping the march to greatness will continue under the new leadership of Vice President John Mahama who was a loyal subordinate of the departed leader.

According to the Governor, Ekiti state has lost a friend who was passionate about her development.

He expressed the condolence of the government and people of Ekiti State to the government and people of the Republic of Ghana.
