Association Of Traditional Medicine Practitioners Crisis Resolved

Ekiti State Government has resolved the lingering crises rocking the State chapter of the National Association of Nigeria Traditional Medicine Practitioners (NANTMP).

In resolving the crisis, the executive council of the faction under the leadership of Mr. Osameka Jacob was dissolved while the association was directed to conduct its general elections. At a reconciliatory meeting in Ado-Ekiti convened by the State Commissioner for Health,  Professor Olusola Fasubaa, the Commissioner declared the purported election of Osameka as State Chairman null and void, warning him to henceforth stop parading himself as such.

Professor Fasubaa said Chief Adebisi Salako remained the only recognised State Chairman of NANTMP,  stressing that anything contrary would be tantamount to breaking the law.

The Commissioner who however noted that the tenure of Chief Adebisi Salako’s exco should have expired, directed that local government elections of the association must be conducted in September while the state election should hold on November 17, 2012 after the current exco had been properly dissolved.

Reiterating the commitment of the Fayemi led administration to maintaining  industrial peace  in the State, Fasubaa said that it was his responsibility to ensure peace in the association without bias to political and religious affiliations of members.
