The State Endorsement Committee for Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji (BAO) has officially announced Wednesday, July 23, 2025, as the date for the statewide endorsement event in support of a second term for the Governor that has been adjudged by all strata of the society in the State and beyond as not only performing well but also a bridge that has united all past and present political leaders as well as connected all stakeholders in an inclusive government that transcends political, social and religious bias.
The event is slated to hold at the Ekiti Parapo Pavilion, along Iyin road in Ado Ekiti at 10am.
This highly anticipated announcement signals a united front among key stakeholders including political leaders, community representatives, the Youths, artisans as well as both the formal and informal sectors, who continue to rally behind Governor Oyebanji’s leadership, vision, and track record of transformational governance in Ekiti State.
The endorsement committee, headed by former Deputy Governor, Surveyor Abiodun Aluko and comprising respected figures across various sectors and local constituencies, is set to reaffirm its support for the Governor’s re-election and a formal declaration of confidence in BAO’s ongoing efforts to deliver inclusive development, economic growth, and sustained peace across the state.
Making the announcement in Ado-Ekiti on Monday during a meeting with the Central Organizing Committee and Local Organizing Committees (LOCs) from all the local governments of the state, Surv. Abiodun Aluko stressed that “Governor Oyebanji has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to the progress of Ekiti State,” adding that “this endorsement reflects the will of the people and a shared belief that the best is yet to come under his leadership.”
Emphasizing that the endorsement programme is nether being orchestrated nor sponsored by the Governor, Aluko said “it’s an act of free-will by stakeholders exercising their fundamental human rights in acknowledgement of his leadership style and good governance.
“It is a period to say thank you, Mr. Governor because we haven’t seen it like this before and we haven’t enjoyed it like this before. You have brought innovation, creativity and initiatives that is transforming Ekiti state from purely agrarian state to a commercialized state.
“Many of our youths have been engaged through varieties of youth programs and particularly agric-business. And don’t forget, there is correlation between joblessness and criminality. But when you look at the criminal index in Nigeria, the state has been adjudged to be the most peaceful. This is because most of those that could have turned to criminality, have been engaged in one way or another. He has created a lot of jobs for people, even outside of government circle.
“So, we want to say we appreciate you, Mr. Governor. We want to say we adore you. We want to say you have sacrificed your time. You have sweated to make Ekiti a livable place for us. Mr. Governor, one good turn deserves another. I mean, we beg you and we still want your good works to continue.”
The July 23 endorsement event will feature remarks from community leaders, representatives from the grassroots, and prominent supporters, marking a key milestone in the lead-up to the 2026 gubernatorial elections.
