…Set to Properly Regulate Operations of Motorcyclists
The Special Adviser to the Ekiti State Governor on Security, Brig Gen. Ebenezer Ogundana(rtd) has assured that the administration of Governor Biodun Oyebanji would spare no efforts towards safeguarding the lives and properties of all the citizens of the State.
Gen Ogundana who gave the assurance in Ado-Ekiti while featuring on Ekiti Loni/Ekiti Today, a live audience participation programme on radio said the Oyebanji Administration had recently given more punch to the State’s security apparatus as part of concerted efforts to secure the State and frontally tackle the few cases of security breaches that recently occurred in the State
He said though security challenge has become a global phenomenon, the Ekiti State Government has been able to effectively manage the situation through proactive measures being put in place by the administration including curbing the activities of criminal gangs operating on motorcycles by properly regulating the operation of private and commercial motorcyclists in the State.
According to the Special Adviser, the present administration had forged a working synergy between the conventional security agencies operating in the State including the Nigerian Army, the Police, the Department of State Services and non State Actors such as the Ekiti State Peace Corps, the Amotekun Corps and Agro Marshalls that has led to effective joint patrol of all parts of the State including the State farm settlements, forest reserves, free areas as well as the communities along the State boundaries.
He said as an administration which gives premium attention to job creation through massive investment in agriculture, agribusiness and direct investment from business organizations within and outside Nigeria, the State Government is leaving no stone unturned in securing all parts of the State adding that adequate security personnel have been posted to the Agricultural hub in the Northern part of the State and the new agric settlements at Ikere and Emure Axis of the State.
Also contributing on the programme, the State Commissioner for Information, Rt. Hon Taiwo Olatunbosun stressed that the State Government is fully committed to its core responsibility of securing the lives and properties at all times.
He said the present administration had activated a multilayered security architecture involving the army, the police, the DSS, the paramilitary as well as State Government internal security machinery at the State, local Government and community levels to effectively secure and gather intelligence from all the nooks and crannies of the State.
Olatunbosun who assured all law abiding citizens and residents of the safety of their lives and properties stressed that there was no hiding place for criminals in the State
While stressing the commitment of the Oyebanji Administration in ensuring that Ekiti remains the most peaceful state in Nigeria, he urged residents of the State to be always ready to volunteer credible information to the security agencies on activities of criminal elements and suspicious persons at all times.
