Ekiti State Governor, Mr. Biodun Oyebanji, has congratulated the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Adeoye Aribasoye, on his election as the Southwest Zonal Chairman of the Conference of Speakers of State Legislatures.
Rt. Hon. Aribasoye was elected to the new position during the Congress of the Conference of Speakers of State Legislatures in Nigeria held in Abuja at the weekend.
The Governor, in a statement by his Special Adviser on Media, Mr. Yinka Oyebode, said he was delighted at the choice of Rt. Hon. Aribasoye by his colleagues which, according to him, is a proof of the confidence they reposed in him.
Governor Oyebanji said the election was also a testament to Aribasoye’s pedigree as a refined politician and consummate parliamentarian whose experience would add value to the group.
According to the Governor , the Ekiti Speaker’s consideration for the chairmanship role is also a recognition of his hard work, courage and inclusive leadership which he brought to bear in his headship of the Ekiti legislature.
He urged Rt. Hon. Aribasoye to continue to showcase the famed Ekiti core values of honesty, integrity, good name and hard work in the performance of his duties in the new position.
The Governor prayed for wisdom, knowledge, understanding and sound health for the Speaker, urging him to do the state proud in his new role.
