Bureau of Assets Management
OVERVIEW
The Bureau of Asset management of Ekiti State is the government agency saddled with the responsibility of the acquisition, documentation, utilization, maintenance, valuation and disposal of state owned assets and also the construction and reconstruction of the State infrastructures as it may be required. Its primary mandate is to ensure that all government properties- Land, building, equipment and infrastructure are efficiently managed to deliver maximum value to the state and its citizens.
MISSION
To ensure effective acquisition and disposal of government assets through transparent, accountable and sustainable practices thereby maximizing value, promoting efficiency and supporting the socio-economic development of Ekiti State.
VISION
To ensure optimal value creation and contributing to the long term growth and prosperity of Ekiti State and to also be a model institution in Ekiti for innovative, transparent and sustainable asset management.
KEY ACTIVITIES
- Maintain a comprehensive register of all government owned assets (Land, Buildings, Vehicles, Equipment’s e.t.c)
- Establish maintenance schedules and procedures to prolong assets lifespan and ensure safety and usability.
- Oversee the acquisition of new assets and ensure their proper allocation to ministries, departments and Agencies (MDAs).
- Conduct periodic valuation of government assets for accurate records and financial reporting.
- Manage the proper disposal of obsolete, damaged or redundant assets through transparent processes.
- Ensure assets are efficiently utilized to maximize returns and reduce wastage and redundancy.
- Develop and enforce policies guidelines and best practices for asset management across all MDAs.
- Train government personnel on asset management procedures including inventory control and maintenance.
- Conduct regular audits and inspections to ensure compliance with asset management policies.
- Prepare periodic reports on asset status, value and management performance for the state Government
