Ekiti State Governor, Mr Biodun Oyebanji has expressed appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Ekiti people and Nigerians in general on the success of his second term inauguration on Friday, October 16, 2026.
The Governor, in a statement in Ado-Ekiti on Saturday said he was humbled by the avalanche of support and goodwill he got on the occasion.
APPRECIATION:
On behalf of the Government and good people of Ekiti State, Land of Honour, I convey our profound gratitude to the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, His Excellency, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR for his massive love and support for our dear State which continue to manifest in tangible growth and development across sectors.
The various milestones attained during our first term would not have been possible but for the economic policies of the President that freed funds to the subnational governments. We owe the President a huge debt of gratitude for this.
Our profound gratitude also goes to the Vice President, His Excellency, Senator Kashim Shettima, GCON, for gracing the second term inauguration ceremony on October 16, 2026, where he stood in for the President and superintended over the event.
The Vice President’s presence at the inauguration marked his third visit to Ekiti State this year. We are glad to note that on those previous visits, His Excellency, Senator Kashim Shettima witnessed first hand, some tangible outcomes of our development efforts.
Our special appreciation goes to the Senate President, Senator Godswill Akpabio, GCON and the Deputy Senate President, Senator Jibrin Barau as well as the National Chairman of our dear party, the All Progressives Congress ( APC), Prof Nentawe Yilwatda and members of the National Working Committee.
Our profound gratitude to all my colleague governors for gracing the occasion. These include Chairman Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF), AbdulRahman AbdulRasaq; Chairman Progressives Governors’ Forum / Imo State Governor, Senator Hope Uzordinma; Governor of Ondo State, Hon Lucky Aiyedatiwa; Kogi Governor, Usman Ododo; Delta Governor Sheriff Oborevwori; Lagos Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu; Kebbi Governor, Dr Nasir Idris; Sokoto State Governor, Ahmad Aliyu Sokoto; Jigawa Governor, Umar Namadi; for making time to join us for the celebration. We equally thanked the Governors of Osun and Kaduna States who were represented by their deputies.
Special thanks to all former Governors of Ekiti State, Otunba Niyi Adebayo, Chief Ayodele Fayose, Engr Segun Oni and Dr Kayode Fayemi and his wife, Erelu Bisi Fayemi. Similarly, our debt of gratitude goes to all our national leaders including former Ogun State Governor, Aremo Segun Osoba, former Osun State Governor, Chief Bisi Akande; former Governor of Ondo State, Dr Rahman Mimiko; former National Vice Chairman APC, Chief Pius Akinyelure; former NBA President, Chief Wole Olanipekun(SAN), former Deputy Governor, Prof. Modupe Adelabu; Chief Niyi Akintola (SAN); Chairman, Nigeria Ports Authority, Senator Dayo Adeyeye, Hon Bisi Kolawole and Osun State First Lady, Chief ( Mrs ) Titilola Adeleke.
We also appreciate the Senate Leader, Senator Opeyemi Bamidele and all serving and former National Assembly members, the Honourable Minister of Solid Minerals Development, Mr Dele Alake and the Honourable Minister of Education, Dr Tunji Alausa; the Speaker, Ekiti State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon Adeoye Aribasoye, and all members of the state assembly as well as former members of the State Executive Council.
The Ooni of Ife, His Imperial Majesty, Oba Enitan Ogunwusi and Emir of Borgu, Dr Muhammed Sani Haliru Dantoro; deserve our special appreciation. Similarly, our profound thanks go to Senator Abdulaziz Yari, Director General of the APC Presidential Campaign Council and other PCC members.
We also thank the judiciary in the State under the leadership of the Chief Judge, Hon Justice Adekanye Ogunmoye for their support. In particular Justice Ogunmoye who had the honour of administering the oaths of office and allegiance. Also of particular note is the retired Presiding Judge of the Court of Appeal, Honourable Justice Oyebisi Omoleye.
This administration enjoys a good relationship with the state council of traditional rulers under the chairmanship of HRM Oba Adu Adejimi Alagbado, the Ogoga of Ikere-Ekiti. To all our Kabiyesis, we say thank you, in particular, the Ewi of Ado- Ekiti, HRM Oba Rufus Adeyemo Adejugbe; for gracing the inauguration programmes with their royal presence and for their sundry support.
We cannot but thank all heads of security agencies in the state for working collaboratively to make the week-long inauguration programme hitch- free.
Our appreciation also goes to the heads of institutions, Managing Directors/ CEOs of Banks and other financial institutions, leaders of labour unions, professional groups, trade associations, the media, drivers unions, Okada riders, market leaders, the iyalajes and iyalojas for their support. We equally appreciate the Governorship Candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in the June 20, election, Dr Wole Oluyede; Governorship Candidate of APM, Chief Joseph Anifowose; and Candidate of the SDP, Mr Isaac Alade.
Together we shall keep working towards shared prosperity for all Ekiti citizens and make our dear state the number one destination of choice for those looking for where to live, work, invest and relax.
Once again, we thank our dear President, His Excellency, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR.
