Ekiti State Governor, Mr Biodun Oyebanji has congratulated the former People’s Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate in Ekiti State, Hon. Bisi Kolawole on his 70th birthday.
Governor Oyebanji, in a statement by his Special Adviser on Media, Mr Yinka Oyebode, described Hon Kolawole as an eminent and distinguished son of Ekiti who has contributed his quota to the development of the state to the admiration of all.
The Governor hailed Hon Kolawole for his passionate commitment to ideals of good governance, growth of democracy and always putting the interest of Ekiti on the front burner.
He said that the septuagenarian made notable impact as a member of the Ekiti State House of Assembly where he represented Efon Constituency between 2007 and 2011 and as Honourable Commissioner for Environment from 2015 to 2018.
According to him, Hon Kolawole ran a vibrant, issue-based and commendable campaign as the candidate of the PDP in the 2022 governorship election and displayed patriotism, maturity and spirit of politics without bitterness.
The Governor described Hon Kolawole as a true democrat and urged politicians to emulate his statesmanship. He specifically praised the politician for congratulating him after the outcome of the 2022 election, and choosing to support the administration instead challenging the outcome of the poll at the Tribunal.
He noted that Hon Kolawole has remained relevant in the nation’s political space with his election as the Deputy National Secretary of the PDP which he said bears eloquent testimony to his worth, value and quality as a leader that can be entrusted with lofty leadership positions.
The Governor prayed God to grant Hon Kolawole long life, sound health and fulfillment of his future aspirations and more years of selfless service to Ekiti State, Nigeria and humanity in general.
“On behalf of the Government and good people of Ekiti State, I celebrate our dear Hon Kolawole and wish him good health and strength as he continues to serve our state and country with greater distinction”, the Governor added.
