Microfinance Enterprise Development Agency
Microfinance and Enterprise Development Agency was formerly known as Ekiti State Micro Credit Agency. It is government Agency in charge of lending to grassroots people. It is saddled with provision of low interest loan to people especially Small and Micro business owners who may find it difficult to access bank loan. As the scope of the Agency continue to widen, Micro credit facility was extended further to reach larger beneficiaries like artisans, traders, small scale manufacturers among others. Following the restructuring of Ministries Departments and Agencies by the State Government, the Agency was harmonized with another agency in 2019,hence it became Microfinance and Enterprise Development Agency.
ORGANIZATION STRUCTURE
The political head of the Agency is Director General or Chairman as the case may be, while the official head is the General Manager who has five Directors directly responsible to him. The Directors are:
- Director of Administration and Supplies
- Director of Finance and Accounts
- Director of Loans
- Director of Planning ,Research and Statistics.
- Internal Audit Unit
We have the office of the Deputy Director Loans under the Director Loans who supervises three Zonal Officers. There are three Zonal Offices in the State ,one in each Senatorial district. The three Zonal offices have headquarter in the following towns for administrative convenience.
- Ekiti North Zone: Ikole
- Ekiti Central Zone: Ijero
- Ekiti South Zone: Ikere

- Provision of low and simple interest loan to the members of the community who may find it difficult to access bank loan due to stringent loan policies and conditions.
- Provision of supports and opportunities for self employment through judicious utilization of the loan.
- Mentoring and Supervision of the loan beneficiaries after accessing the loan facility from the Agency.
- Encouraging capacity building by regular training in loan utilization ,saving and repayment.
- Refunding all credit worthy beneficiaries who didn’t default in repayment of their previous loan.
