Environment Commissioner Admonishes People Living In Ecologically – Challenged Areas

People living in ecologically challenged areas in Ekiti State have been advised to vacate the areas as the rain is going to its peak at  this rainy season.
The State Commissioner for Housing and Environment, Barrister Paul Omotoso gave the advice while fielding questions from Journalists in
his office in Ado Ekiti.
Barrister Omotoso who stated that there have been an alert from the Federal Ministry of Environment that flood will affect some areas in the state, said that everyone should take precautionary measures to check the menace of erosion and flooding.
The Commissioner who added that the Fayemi led administration would continually take steps to curtail ecological problems in the State.
Barrister Omotoso stressed that the interim measure that could be taken in areas prone to erosion and flooding was for the people to vacate the areas to forestall devastating effects
The Commissioner said that the present administration is progressively working on the following ecological challenged locations at Okeoniyo, Omikurudu, Olobe in Ado Ekiti and Oro pupa/ Oke Age, Igede Ekiti in Irepodun/ Ifelodun Local Government Area of the State.
