Health care delivery at the grassroots will further receive a boost in Ekiti State as the National Primary Health Care Development Agency (NPCDA) has recruited 170 health workers of Ekiti State origin under the Subsidy Reinvestment and Empowerment Programme (SURE-P).
A statement from the Ekiti State Primary Health Care Development Agency indicates that 20 Midwives and 150 Community Health Extension Workers (CHEW) were recruited under the programme.
The scheme which is a national programme is aimed at caring for children and mothers as well as to promote safe motherhood among pregnant women and nursing mothers in order to further bring down infant and maternal mortality in the state.
The statement directed candidates to check their names on the notice board of the State Primary Health Care Development Agency, New Secretariat Complex, Ado –Ekiti.
It added that successful candidates are to report at South West Zonal office of the NPCDA for enrolment and orientation from 9th of September, 2012.
