Fayemi, Aides Rescue Auto-Crash Victims

Ekiti State Governor, Dr Kayode Fayemi (In Green Cap) coordinating evacuation of some accident victims along Ife- Ibadan Express Way.

Ekiti State Governor, Dr Kayode Fayemi, and his aides on Sunday morning rescued 18 accident victims along Ife-Ibadan road, a few kilometres to Ikire, Osun State.

The Ado-Ekiti bound commercial bus with Lagos registration number XY 327 FKJ, which took off from Ibadan, was said to have somersaulted three times, leaving all the passengers seriously injured.

According to a statement by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Mr Yinka Oyebode, Governor Fayemi whose convoy was passing through the road enroute Lagos, immediately directed his convoy to stop. The governor also asked his Personal Doctor to administer first aid treatment on the victims and arrange their movement to the nearest hospital with the convoy Ambulance.

The Governor also gave a cash donation to the victims to cater for their treatment and their belongings which got destroyed in the crash.

Eye witness accounts stated that the 18-perssenger bus had skidded off the road and somersaulted three times. No death was recorded however.
