Explosion: EKSG to commence Rehabilitation of affected Structures

The Implementation Committee on bomb explosion, as set up by Ekiti State Government and Chaired by the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Works and Transport, Mr. Bamidele Agbede has submitted its report.

Receiving the report in Ado-Ekiti, the State Governor, Dr. Kayode Fayemi said that he is committed to ensuring that such bomb explosion incident never repeats itself in the state.

Dr. Fayemi who was represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Mr. Abiodun Oyebanji noted that the committee was constituted to drive the implementation of recommendations earlier made by Panel of Enquiry into the bomb explosion.

He expressed gratitude to the Committee members, stressing that rehabilitation work on affected structures will start as soon as the government takes a decision on the recommendations presented.

Earlier, the Chairman of the Committee, Mr. Bamidele Agbede said the report contains workable recommendations that will assist the government to tackle all problems that came up with the explosion. Other members of the committee include Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Health and Human Services, Dr. Folakemi Olomojobi, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Finance, Mr. James Folorunso, Permanent Secretary, Parastatals’ Affairs Department, Mr. B. Arowosola, Special Adviser, Security Matters, Rtd. Brig. Gen. Ebenezer Ogundana and the Director, Special Services Division, Mr. Isaac Ajayi.
