Ekiti Deputy Governor Tasks Journalists on Objective Reporting

Ekiti state Deputy Governor, Prof. Modupe Adelabu has called on journalists in the state to remain objective in their reportage of events.
Prof. Adelabu who made the call at a Press Parley in Ado-Ekiti, urged journalists in the state to focus more on developmental and investigative journalism in order to ensure factual and irrefutable reportage.
According to her, Journalists as fourth estate of the realm must act as watchdogs and gatekeepers of the society, noting that their news stories are read, analyzed, digested and internalized by the people.

The Deputy Governor solicited the continue support of journalists for the efforts of the present administration at transforming the state, adding that the Fayemi led administration considers them to be partners in progress.
She stressed that men of the pen profession must feel free to correct government when and if the need arises, adding that it must however be done positively and in a way that it would not create disaffection.
