Ekiti State Commissioner for Culture, Arts, and Tourism, Alhaji Ayodele Jinadu has said that the State Festival of Culture and Arts Expo (EKIFEST) would henceforth be an annual event.
Speaking in Ado Ekiti when he led members of the Central Planning Committee of 2012 EKIFEST on an advocacy visit to the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria FRCN and the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA), Alhaji Jinadu noted that the state has one of the best cultural elements in the world.
The Commissioner noted that the cultural and language homogeneity makes the state unique amongst states in the federation. He added that it is on record that works of arts from Ekiti had international recognition as far back as 1914 at a British exhibition.
