Community Stakeholders Should Be Involved In Project Planning And Conceptualization – Dipo-Salami

Ekiti State Commissioner for Integration and Inter-governmental Affairs, Mrs. Bunmi Dipo-Salami has stressed the need for stakeholders to be involved in the design and conceptualization of projects in their community.

Speaking during the monitoring tour of all donor related projects in Oye Local Government Area of the state, Mrs. Dipo-Salami explained that the involvement of people in areas that projects were sited would enable those who understand the peculiarities and needs of their areas to address those peculiarities, adding that it would also boost maintenance of the facilities.
According to the Commissioner, all levels of government should carry stakeholders in communities along in the planning and execution of collaborative projects in the communities.
Among the project sites inspected were the World Bank sponsored FADAMA project feed mill at Oye Local Government Area and the Agricultural Development Programme (ADP) sponsored cassava processing unit.

Other project sites visited include: the Health Centre at Ilupeju which is an Ekiti State Community and Social Development Agency ( EKCSDA) project sponsored by World Bank, the Isan Community Secondary School also sponsored by EKCSDA, the European Union sponsored Water project at Ire-Ekiti, a FADAMA project of six lock up shops at Ilupeju and Imojo-Ekiti as well as the  EKCSDA sponsored Iro-meta town hall also at Ilupeju Ekiti.
In his remarks, the Chairman of Oye Local Government, Barrister Adewale Adekoya expressed satisfaction with the choice of Oye LGA as the flag off point of the monitoring programme and promised to continually support the execution of donor projects in the area.
