Commissioner For Labour Charges Officials

Mr. Wole Adewumi, the Commissioner for Labour, and Productivity and Human Capital Development,  has charged the officials of government that are responsible for the payment of stipends to the elderly citizens under the State Social Security Scheme to be honest and transparent in thedischarge of their duties.

Mr. Adewumi gave the charge in Ado Ekiti at a routine meeting with the Treasury Cash Officers (TCO),  Council Assistants to the Governor (CAG),  and Social Development Workers from all the 16 Local Government, Area of Ekiti State who responsible for the payment of the stipends.
The Commissioner warned them against shoddy implementation as the success or otherwise of the scheme depends solely on their effectiveness, adding that personal interest should not be allowed to influence their job.
He advised the officials, particularly the Council Assistants to the Governor (CAG) not to give the scheme a political colorations Dr. Kayode Fayemi is the Governor, not only of Action Congress of Nigeria but all Ekiti people, adding that government would not hesitate to sanction any erring official.
Earlier the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry, Mr. Ropo Famubode has lauded the officials for their selfless service while calling on them to improve on their previous performances.
Suggestions and observations were raised on how to improve upon the level of implementation by the participants.
